Located at Kerdroya: The Cornish Landscape Labyrinth at Colliford Lake on Bodmin Moor, Golden Tree Productions is launching an extensive training programme in partnership with the Guild of Cornish Hedgers, giving people a unique opportunity to learn the ancient craft of hedging. This is also a chance to be part of the skilled team constructing Kerdroya: the world’s largest classical labyrinth, built entirely of traditional Cornish hedging.
There are 2, 5 and 10-day training courses available, as well as the full Guild of Cornish Hedgers Advanced Certificate in Cornish Hedging. All courses will be run by a qualified, fully trained Guild of Cornish Hedgers professional with exceptional teaching ratios of 1:6 and 1:4. Members of the public can book themselves directly onto courses and organisations can email for custom dates and group discounts. A number of pre-allocated funded places will be delivered in partnership with the Department for Work & Pensions and colleges.

The course is split into two halves, the first five days being intensive learning followed by more independent working with support and finally a test on day 10. On successful completion you can progress on to the Advanced Certificate in Cornish Hedging with this course counting towards your final qualification.
This course consists of the Intermediate Certificate (10 days) followed by a minimum further 40 days hedging and a final assessment. Following successful completion of this course, you will be a fully qualified Cornish Hedger and member of the Guild of Cornish Hedgers.
Some six-month Kick Start placements will be available for this course but we are unable to take applications direct as all must be referred through the Job Centre to ensure they meet all requirements of the scheme.
