Opportunity for Artists

Major artwork commission to celebrate the 60 year anniversary of Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

Golden Tree is working with the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Partnership on KERDROYA – a major new piece of permanent public art – a 50m diameter classical labyrinth built from artisan Cornish hedging at Colliford Lake on Bodmin Moor. We are now looking for a creative and original proposal for a permanent CENTRAL ARTWORK which will sit at the heart of the labyrinth, augmenting the Kerdroya experience, unlocking deeper engagement and further inspiring people to explore and enjoy the landscapes of Cornwall.

We are inviting expressions of interest from visual artists/arts organisations working in appropriate disciplines to design and deliver an extraordinary public artwork. We welcome applications from artists from all backgrounds.

Golden Tree has a secured fee of £25,000 from a number of sources for commissioning the work.

The successful artist(s) will have an original concept and a track record in delivering excellent artistic content. They will also have a clear idea about the way in which the installation augments the Kerdroya experience.

This process is designed to be as open as possible, providing opportunities for artists from diverse backgrounds and contexts. Additional support to apply can be provided by Golden Tree and/or FEAST upon request.

Applications are now closed. Shortlisted candidates will be notified by 2nd March 2020.
