Natalia Eernstman

Independent researcher, educator and theatre maker. Mildly obsessed with (environmental) change and how that impacts human lives. Specializes in creating work that helps people from different disciplines and backgrounds, and with different stories and knowledges, to come together and find solutions for complex problems.

Shocked by the devastation that the ‘Valentine Storms’ caused in Cornwall (winter ’13-’14), I was keen to accept the offer from the University of Exeter, to create a performance event about community resilience in the face of extreme weather. I feel that there is a gap between the objective language of policy-making and the personal world of people living in a place to which these policies should apply. A gap that the arts can help to bridge.
